Speaking Questions

PART 1: INTERVIEW

  • What is your full name?
  • Can I see your ID?
  • Where are you from?
  • Do you work or study?
  • Do people in your country like to give presents?
  • Do you enjoy shopping for presents?
  • What was the last gift that you received?

PART 2: Cue Card (Long Turn)

Talk about a toy you had when you were a child. Please say

  •  What was the toy?
  • Who gave it to you?
  • What was special about this toy?

 

PART 3: Discussion

  • Did you play with this toy with someone?
  • What kind of toys do children like?
  • What is the difference between toys for girls and boys?
  • What were the common toys in your childhood?
  • Do you think children can learn something from toys?
  • Do you think children these days still play with those toys?
  • Should children be allowed to choose their toys?

 

WRITING PRACTICE QUESTIONS

Writing Task 1: Letter 

You traveled recently and have forgotten one of your bags on the bus. Write a letter to the bus company and:

  • describe the bag and where it was left
  • give details of the bag’s contents
  • suggest a way for the bag to be returned to you

 

Writing Task 2: Essay

Nowadays people who live in big cities are faced with different problems. Discuss the common problems these people encounter on a daily basis. Do you think it is a good idea for governments to encourage people to live in smaller towns? Discuss the advantages and disadvantages of living in big cities and small towns.
